Fontana, California, is located in San Bernardino County. It has a population of about 196,000 which makes it the second most populated city in the county and the 20th most populated city in the state. Fontana has become known as a regional hub for the trucking industry. Fontana was founded in 1913 and began as a rural, agricultural community. The town was transformed during World War II when Henry J. Kaiser built one of only two steel mills located west of the Mississippi. Fontana experiences a desert climate and is frequently affected by the strong, hot and dry Santa Ana winds making it quite hot in the summertime.

Arguably the biggest influence on Fontana's local economy is the Auto Club Speedway. The race course brings tens of thousands of fans to the area for a few days each year which has a big impact on the local hospitality industry. In addition, the local economy relies heavily on trucking-based industries. Several trucking dealerships are located in the city as well as industrial sales centers and product distribution centers. There are also many small building materials manufacturers, auto dealerships and salvage yards.
